Grace Quilt Pattern
Broderie Perse means simply using the fabric's motif as your cutting guide.
These patterns generally include a template for the "vase". In this case, a mason jar is the vase for the GRACE bouquet quilts. The bouquets and bindings are made using the RIGHT side of the fabric; the mason jar is made using the REVERSE. This subtle use of the reverse gives a sense of the vase reflecting the blooms it's holding. Your bouquet is very much determined by the floral focus fabric you've chosen and how you arrange your bouquet - making the quilt uniquely yours!
Lilly Quilt Pattern
This wall quilt is made using a template for the dragonfly and broderie perse for the flowering vine above her. The dragonfly is made using the RIGHT side of the floral fabric; the REVERSE is used for the quilt binding and the blooms on the vine.
Rose Quilt Pattern
This focus fabric has an incredible REVERSE! Notice the scrollwork in the vase? I used the RIGHT side of the focus fabric as the dark accent strip on the left - you can barely make out the scrollwork on the motif. Here you can also see the variety in the background fabrics.
